This Knowledge Base article will demonstrate the steps necessary to locate your computer name; this is helpful in enabling IT to assist via remote support.

Step 1. From your desktop, click Start (Windows icon in the bottom left of the screen) as denoted by the red arrow.

Step 2. Simply type 'This PC' into the Start menu; by clicking on the Windows icon in Step 1, you'll have entered into a search field, thus allowing for easy search attempts.

Step 3. Right-click on the lone option (This PC) under 'Best match' and select Properties from the resulting context menu.

Step 4. Within the resulting window, the PC name (listed to the right of Device name) can be located towards the top of the screen, as denoted by the red circle.

Step 5. Simply provide the Device name as listed in this window to IT, thus allowing us to remote in and assist with issues more efficiently.
